I’m surprised that Microsoft considers the upgrade from 6.0 only a .1 upgrade. It is way beyond that, it has made my smartphone such an ease to use now. Although my HTC S621 Excalibur is not a touch screen phone, the upgrade has made it a breeze to use. The 6.1 Operating System seems alot faster and more responsive than Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6.0.
Of course, just like upgrading from Windows Mobile 5 to 6, I couldn’t expect Suncom to provide any kind of ROM and had to use the http://forum.xda-developers.com/ website and their wealth of knowledge in how to bypass the CID locks so that I could upgrade it to Kavena’s 6.1 ROM. 
I’m not going into great detail of all the different details but I have posted a couple of snapshots that I took from my phone. The first is what is considered the ‘home’ or ‘today’ screen. The other is a screenshot of the Opera Mini browser that lets me view Internet sites with ease. You’ll notice the rectangle box. You can move it around the screen to begin your zoom in at a specific location on the screen for viewing. Similar to the iPhone safari browser but using non-touch screen functions.
Similar to the iPhone it does have WIFI, and uses the GSM EDGE network. It has a tactile QWERTY keyboard instead of a touch screen one, and I receive my Gmail using push email technology from mail2web. I do like that the phone isn’t locked down and limited like the iPhone is, and has alot more applications then what the Blackberry offers. And instead of paying what many paid for an iPhone, I only paid $130 to Suncom (after a discount and a 2 yr extension).
