Heike went with the kids to the beach yesterday and took pictures of the man of war jellyfish that washed up on our Surf City beach. Here’s a recent article discussing all of the washed up jellyfish.

Today is the first day of 2007. I wish everyone a Happy New Year and that this year holds good health, happiness, and friends for each of you. May all your passions and dreams come true!
We brought in the New Year with a small family party at our house. Heike brought out the Karaoke machine, we played games like hide and go seek and the board game Life. She also made potato salad and Bockwurst, lots of chips and snacks. She used her new soda making machine to make plenty of drinks available.
We toasted to the New Year as the animated New Years ball dropped that I placed on our virtual island, and then we went to bed. 
We also rang in the New Year in our virtual island home with Heike’s Mom and Claus. They created Second Life accounts and I gave each of us sparkly 2007 glasses and flutes of virtual champagne. As the New Year arrived in Germany (6 hours before EST time), we toasted to 2007 with them. I set off some exploding lights and used a bubble making wand to create a scenic view. We also had a nice bonfire to really make everything really nice. I’m posting picture below to offer a glimpse of the celebration. – Tim
