We’re back from Germany and recovering from our vacation. Yet, Heike still made time to cook myself and the kids a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.
Despite the disappointing outcome of the recent elections (IMHO), we have many things to be thankful to our Lord for this year.
- Thank you for our soldiers who volunteer to honorably serve our country in our war against Islamic Fascism (calling it for what it is).
- Thank you for our health, home, and employment.
- Thank you that you’ve let us live close to the beach.
- Thank you for all our family and friends.
- Thanks most of all for sending your son to die for our sins so that we can one day go to heaven.

Hi Everyone,
We’re wrapping up our German vacation here after numerous visits to many members of Heike’s family. Everyone has enjoyed a wonderful time visiting family on Heike’s side of the genealogy tree. I’ve eaten a lot of German food. I also went to my favorite Greek Restaurant in Bremen called Mykonos. Food-wise, I believe I’ve met all my objectives in filling my quota of German beer and food before I return. After Thanksgiving, I believe I’ll need to return to phase 1 on the South Beach Diet … Sigh.
We also bought a German doorbell tone from a place that is similar to a Lowes or Home Depot. It’s the same doorbell tone that Heike and I had in our first German apartment back in 1989. Here in Germany they call it the”Drei Klang Gong”. I also took a few neat pictures of those funny looking SMART cars ( www.smart.de) , which I still need to upload. Supposedly they’re supposed to be sold in the USA beginning in 2008. I personally can’t see how anyone in the USA would buy a car such as this.
It’s been a nice trip, but we are looking forward to returning to our home. You can view the pictures I’ve uploaded so far at http://www.timandheike.com . On the right side, there’s a link to our Flickr Pictures. Click on the Flickr link and it will take you to our Flickr site, and to the Bremen Urlaub set of pics. We’ll begin our trek back to the states on Tuesday Morning and arrive Tuesday night in Wilmington. What scares us most is a recent link from a Drudge Report article noting that US Airways in Philadelphia has one ofthe worst track records on losing people’s suitcases compared to any other airline hub. Hopefully we clear this unscathed.
Take care, and talk to you soon.
Tim
Kimberly, we wish you a very happy birthday! May God bless this new year for you with wonderful health and happiness.
